LAST Saturday the Great Southern Kart Club held a club run in clear but cold conditions, with a total of 55 nominations, including one from South Australia.
The meeting started with the KT Medium/Heavy class,
which had a total of 10 drivers.
Daniel Coleman from Busselton won the meeting from Mark DeRosa and Peter Hubeck, both from Perth.
There was again a good field of Juniors, with 11 drivers, making them the second biggest class.
Timothy Ryan proved to be the one to beat, winning the meeting from Hayden Thorpe and Tyson Bryden, all from Perth.
In the 125 Open class, there were 11 drivers who turned up to have fun in the dirt. Troy Treasure from Busselton won the meeting from Jamie Shuttleworth and Stuart Inglis.
The KT Lights class was again the biggest field of the day, with 12 drivers. Luke Nardini drove well all afternoon to win his first meeting, from Nathan Hill and James Inglis.
The six Outlaw drivers were joined by two KT Twins, two 100 Opens and one 200 Open to make Mixed class.
The Outlaws were too good for the rest of them, with Brody Oorschot winning the meeting from Peter Arnold and his brother Callan Oorschot.
The final round of racing had diminished numbers
across all classes, with a number of people pulling out due to the cold weather and mechanical problems, but overall it was an enjoyable meeting.
On September 27 and 28, the Great Southern Kart Club will be hosting the Western Australian State Dirt Kart Titles, with several inter-state nominations received already. The club encourages people to come up and have a look.
Racing is on Saturday and Sunday, with admission free and the bar will be open from 4pm on Saturday.
