A 39-YEAR-OLD woman from Frankland has died after a crash at Ryansbrook, south of Kojonup on Sunday.

She was the mother of a 20-year-old who lives in Dongolocking.

The woman died from the injuries she received when the station wagon she was driving left the road and crashed into several trees.

Kojonup Police investigating the incident were told the vehicle had reached the crest of a hill on the Kojonup-Frankland Road about 1pm as a Holden Commodore sedan approached from the opposite direction.

The woman in the station wagon swerved to avoid the Commodore and her vehicle left the road and hit two trees.

She was trapped in the wreckage and later freed by fire and rescue crews and taken to the Katanning Hospital where she died soon afterwards.
